Soon after my last oil change, I experienced a knocking/tapping in the engine. I would have brought it back to the dealership, but I was already headed out of town. I have shared my concerns when I bring my vehicle in and shared my concerns about engine issues since my first oil change, from the low oil level warnings coming on before the end of the oil life. I diligently get the oil changed as scheduled and recommended by GM. Just as there was an issue with the transmissions on these vehicles and was told “it’s normal”, but it was not and there was a settlement for multiple issues. I am concerned that now I am seeing problems with the loud tapping and told by a mechanic that it was due to the DOD system causing the lifters to stick. MORE money out of my pocket to get problem fixed. Please advise as to what you believe I should do next.
