Every new Chevy Silverado 1500 takes the market by storm. It’s a popular light-duty pickup with a lot of customization options and configurations that’ll suit many different drivers. There are four engines to choose from, numerous available trims, and lots more exciting features that are bound to appeal to you.

Commendable Capability

The Silverado 1500’s strongest engine can produce a maximum of 495 lb-ft of torque. With this engine, you can haul a maximum of 13,300 pounds. That makes this truck a fantastic choice for anybody who needs to tow large campers, trailers full of work equipment, and other hefty loads. If you need to pack heavy items into the truck bed, then you’ll be able to fill it with up to 2,260 pounds worth of cargo.

Energetic Engines

Every engine available in the Silverado 1500 is designed to provide the most powerful performance possible. The TurboMax is standard on six of the 1500’s trims and delivers 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. This 2.7 L gas engine has a unique dial voltage charger to deliver torque on demand. It’s designed to make difficult jobs feel easy for your truck to handle.

A 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 gas engine is also available, delivering 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. It’s standard on two of the 1500’s trims. A 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8 gas engine boasting 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque is available on five of the 1500’s trims. Finally, a Duramax 3-liter turbodiesel engine is standard on the ZR2 and available on six of the trims. It can produce 305 hp, and it’s the engine delivering the 495 lb-ft of torque we mentioned earlier.

Adventurous Attitude

All of the 1500’s trims can easily take on the great outdoors, but the ZR2 was designed with off-roading in mind. It has 33-inch mud terrain tires, multimatic DSSV dampers, and an off-road cut front bumper. Its chassis was designed to handle tough off-road conditions without sustaining damage.

Steel front and rear bumpers offer extra protection for its exterior, and they add to the truck’s tough appearance. The truck also has large aluminum skid plates on its underbody to protect it from debris.

Best-in-Class Bed

You can fit a best-in-class 89.1 cubic feet of cargo in the truck bed. It has 12 standard tie-downs, and a power-up and down tailgate is available. And of course, Chevy’s unique Multi-Flex Tailgate is standard. This feature allows you to configure your tailgate in six different ways based on your needs at any time. Some of the tailgate configurations include one for easy access, one that provides a work surface for you, and one that has a full-width step.
